Discussion Starter · #1 · May 5, 2012. After spooling my Penn Battle 6000 with 40# braid I've noticed that the line lay bulges in the middle with gaps along the edges. I've respooled it 3 times doing it even tighter each time, no difference. I also have a Battle 5000 and the 30# braid spools nice, tight and evenly.

My absolute largest pet-peeve is feeling a joining knot on the spool so I'll always have enough line to cover at least a cast and a half if not slightly more than that.
